About Me

wp-1569948610893.jpg

This is what I look like on normal days.  I thought about putting up a picture of what I look like on a really good day, or after a nice Photoshop session, but that did not seem honest.  I work at MB Seminary, pastoring students, administering as quickly and efficiently as I can, writing and blogging somewhat, and teaching, too. On the side, I help out here and there at our local church, because I strongly believe that belonging to a local church is important, and is at least as much about giving as it is about receiving.

I served for eight years on the Board of Faith and Life (now the National Faith and Life Team) of my home denomination, and contributed to some theological writing as part of that role. (You can find it here and here.) And you can find few journal articles I wrote, here, here, and here. But when I get to be myself, I go home and just try to be a good husband and dad. And I try to make really good coffee and take care of my fountain pens. Some days it’s all easy enough, and some days it is hard.  But Lord willing, I think I am making progress . . . maybe.

  1. I’ve seen you at your worst and at your best. Actually, there’s not that much difference between the two. Welcome to the blogosphere, dear brother.
